High School STEM Innovation Academy
Purpose: Intended for high schools early in their STEM/STEAM journey interested in providing Cobb students with STEM/STEAM-enriched learning opportunities that cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for future success in STEAM-related college and career fields.
Participants will:

- Engage in STEM/STEAM thinking
- Deepen their understanding of effective integrated math, science, technology and engineering (STEM) instruction, including the arts (for STEAM schools)
- Design a unique STEM/STEAM experience based on school goals, priorities and/or desired outcomes
- Integrate content-area standards and objectives to create authentic STEM/STEAM PBL opportunities for students
- Tour the STEM/STEAM programs established at area schools.
- Determine next steps for implementation and sustainability

The STEM & Innovation Department will cover the sub cost to send four teachers from each Cobb school on each date. You may send a larger team, but the local school must cover the additional sub cost. The same team attends each date together.
